Juan José is a senior associate and a member of the competition/antitrust, consumer law and compliance practice areas. He specializes in mergers and acquisition antitrust analysis, and infringement conducts regulated by the Chilean Antitrust Law, representation of clients in administrative investigations before the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office, or in contentious and non-contentious proceedings before the Chilean Antitrust Court and the Supreme Court. Likewise, he has also represented clients in administrative and judicial proceedings related to Consumer Law (Law No. 19.496), and he has provided advice related to the design, implementation and execution of compliance programs related to Law No. 20.393 and antitrust.

To pursue his master’s studies, Juan José obtained a Fulbright Scholarship (2018) and the Dean’s Graduate Award from New York University (2019). As part of his professional experience, he was an attorney in the Litigation Division of the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office (2016-2019). In such position, he participated in several contentious proceedings before the Tribunal de Defensa de la Libre Competencia and the Supreme Court in cases related to cartels, unilateral conduct, gun jumping and/or early implementation of concentration operations, among others.
